Fighting for our brothers and sisters suffering from social injustice and inequality, and housing discrimination, first and foremost. Short-term car camping, RV living, and tenting legal sites. Site host on the premises. Social Services, & Outreach. The organization's primary goal is to be of assistance to individuals and families that are facing eviction, by providing financial help or preventative methods to reduce homelessness for our clients before they are living on the streets, under bridges, and up and down our highways, throughout the Seattle area, , Pierce Snohomish, King, Ferry, Chelan, Douglas, and Spokane Counties. During these unprecedented times, the staff and volunteers of Ruby's Place & WDDW along with My Brother's Keeper, and our' future partners have focused our main attention on creating equitable and innovative ways to meet our targeted demographics, while striving to meet the immediate needs of those who live in their vehicle or tents, in real-time. While participating in our Safe Parking & Tenting Program, transitioning back into society, waiting on permanent housing. Because RVs are larger, we will be very tactical and considerate where we set up shop.
- This is a place for RVs, and all sites are first-come-first-served. Each stay is based on a case-by-case analysis.
Safe Parking & tenting Program
The ' Program ' is a secure and legal homeless intervention, designed to stabilize individuals and families short term. Guests will be provided with a safe place to sleep while living in their vehicles. Our objective is to develop sustainable communities for them.
The ultimate goal for some will be transitioning back into society while getting out of the vehicle and into a home; for others, it may be a sense of belonging to a community that looks out for one another.
These sites will be equipped with portable toilets, handwashing stations, and waste management. Each site will have a Site Host and Volunteers. We are a drug-free and alcohol-free community, that complies with all CDC and government mandates.

- Rubys Place Social Services ensues our clients for 3 years. Our organization goes the extra miles needed for individuals to actually succeed in their housing search in real time. The staff and volunteers actually handle their rental process from A-Z if needed. This consist of Applying for section 8 lotterys. Hud and low income housing complexes. We build repore with the Landlords, so when we introduce the client the landlord is already familiar with them and our organization. We love the work we do here. So far Rubys Place has applied for over 30 individuals, when the Housing Choice Section 8 lotteries are open here in Washington State. We have received excellent results, 11 section 8 Housing choice Vouchers have been obtain by our clients thus far. Rubys Place going the extra miles makes sure that the voucher is issued to the client. We help individuals to gather all needed verifications for voucher issusance . We apply for extensions and reasonable accommodation on the clients behave if need. We interact with the housing authorities to make sure that the client is in compliance with what is expected. Here is where the real work begin. Ruby's Place then starts its home search together with the voucher holder. Once a unit is found inspected and move in date is set. Client status changes from homeless to housed. Ruby's Place helps with recertification paperwork from DSHS-Social Security. We make food bank runs for our disabled. If our clients need resources that are beyond our scope, Ruby's Place will find what is needed. If housing is what you need we can fix that. If surviving in the wild is your thing, we can help with need supplies individuals might need. Here at Ruby's Place our organization is well rounded. We meet individuals where they are at on their terms. We are developing our safe parking/tenting sites location. This services is put in place for a short time option. For ones that need some transitional time while trying to accure more substainable solutions. All sites will be equipped with services, like sanitation, waste management social services. If you live in larger vehicles like RVs. This Safe Parking Program allows for larger vehicles. All parking spaces will follow social distancing rules by the CDC. Each site will be staffed to the needs of the guest being served. We require an intake form to be completed for all sites. We will work with local jurisdictions to map out low-impact site locations. We will try to have sites that are near services. Our first partners will be the city, landowners, other non-profits, members of the public that want to give back, and area Churches that would like to donate parking spaces.
